The database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP) was developed to archive and distribute the results of studies that have investigated the interaction of genotype and phenotype.

Such studies include GWAS, medical DNA sequencing, molecular diagnostic assays, as well as association between genotype and non-clinical traits.

개인 식별이 가능한 genotype의 경우, Controlled access 정책을 두고 있다. TCGA도 이곳 Controlled access 데이터셋의 하나. 유럽 EBI에는 유사한 EGA가 있다.
