Cone cells (원추세포, 원뿔세포), or cones, are one of three types of photoreceptor cells in the retina of the eye. They are responsible for Color vision and function best in relatively bright light, as opposed to rod cells, which work better in dim light. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cone_cell)

색 인식(Color vision)을 가능하게 하는 세포. (명암인식은 간상세포(Rod cell)) Opsin이란 빛 수용 단백질때문임.
